ST.HOT UPDATE ON ELON MUSK’S HEALTH EXPERTS MAKE SHOCKING PREDICTIONS
Vivian Wilson Speaks Out: Life Beyond Elon Musk’s Billionaire Legacy
For most people, the name Musk conjures images of rockets, Teslas, and unimaginable wealth. But for Elon Musk’s eldest daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, the story couldn’t be more different.
The 21-year-old has long been outspoken about her strained relationship with her father, and in a recent profile with New York Magazine’s The Cut (Sept. 2), she peeled back the curtain on her own reality—one that looks nothing like her father’s $415 billion fortune.
“I don’t have that inheritance,” she said bluntly. “People assume I have a lot of money. I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars at my disposal.”

A Life on Her Own Terms
Vivian, whose mother is Elon’s first wife Justine Wilson, explained that people often misinterpret her financial status. While Justine is comfortably wealthy and Elon is among the richest men alive, Vivian emphasized she’s carved out a modest, independent lifestyle. She currently shares an apartment in Los Angeles with three roommates—not out of necessity, but by choice.
“I don’t have a desire to be super rich,” she told the magazine. “I can afford food. I have friends, a roof over my head, and some extra spending money. That’s more than most people my age here can say, and I’m grateful.”
Drawing a Line With Elon
This isn’t the first time Vivian has publicly distanced herself from her father. In 2022, she legally changed her name, formally severing ties with Musk. Since then, she hasn’t shied away from criticizing him, particularly when it comes to his carefully crafted public image.
Last year, after Musk praised his younger sons online, Vivian fired back on Threads:
“It seems to me like you’re trying to rebuild your brand image as the ‘caring paternal father,’ which I will not let go unchallenged. If I’m going to be honest, this is absolutely pathetic.”
She went further, calling her father’s “family man” persona a sham.
“You are not a family man,” she wrote. “You are a serial adulterer who won’t stop lying about your own children. You are not a Christian, as far as I’m aware you’ve never even stepped foot in a church.”

Support From Her Mother
While she’s cut off contact with Elon, Vivian describes her relationship with her mother Justine as deeply positive. “She’s very supportive,” Vivian told NBC News in July 2024. “I love her a lot.”
Justine has often spoken about her years with Elon. In a 2010 Marie Claire essay, she revealed their marriage was marked by power imbalances and personal struggles, eventually ending in divorce in 2008. But she has remained a grounding force for her children, especially as tensions with Elon have spilled into the public eye.
A Complicated Family Tree
Vivian’s story is one chapter in a sprawling and often turbulent Musk family narrative.
-
Maye Musk (mother of Elon): Born in Canada, she built a career as both a model and dietitian. Elon once bought her a New York apartment after selling his first company.
-
Errol Musk (Elon’s father): A South African engineer whose relationship with Elon has long been described as difficult. He later made headlines for fathering children with his stepdaughter, Jana Bezuidenhout.
-
Kimbal and Tosca Musk (Elon’s siblings): Kimbal, a restaurateur and nonprofit leader, and Tosca, a filmmaker and founder of Passionflix, pursued very different paths from their brother.
Elon himself has fathered at least 14 children with several partners, including twins and triplets with Justine, three children with musician Grimes, and multiple children with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. More recently, conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair claimed he fathered her son, Romulus.
The Musk family tree is tangled with overlapping timelines, public feuds, and deeply personal disputes—many of which Vivian has openly rejected being a part of.

Living Out of the Spotlight
In her 2025 Teen Vogue interview, Vivian shared that she had relocated to Japan and hasn’t spoken to her father since 2020.
“He’s a pathetic man-child,” she said flatly. “Why should I be scared of this man? Because he’s rich? I don’t give a f–k how much money anyone has.”
Her words are stark, but they underscore a clear theme: Vivian is determined to step out from her father’s shadow, both emotionally and financially. While Musk continues to dominate headlines for his business ventures, political takes, and ever-expanding family, his eldest daughter seems intent on forging her own identity—one that has nothing to do with billion-dollar bank accounts.
